This first published collection of posters have been hand-picked by Radical Poster Collective members, to give a feel for the posters that were in circulation during the Spanish Revolution and Civil War. Propaganda posters became a vital tool in the struggle - within the context of relatively low literacy levels - used by anarchist, socialist, and communist groups to rally support and educate the masses. These posters were not just art, they were a direct extension of the revolutionary movement, plastered on city walls, and dictated in union halls. They symbolised the war's deflance against fascism, and idealized their vision of a new society.
