Jose Maria Sison's 1971 work "Phillipine Society and Revolution" (under the pen name Amado Guerrero) offers a sharp, Marxist analysis of the history of the Phillipines, the conditions of the time and why and how revolution is possible/probable. Sison's historical materialist approach compliments and explains the entire trajectory of the Phillipines society, including offering clear explanations as to why their situation differed from past revolutions, an important lesson for all revolutionaries today.
